Building Community for
Lakeside and Our Neighbors
Our purpose is to CONNECT people within the community, to PRESERVE its natural beauty and to CELEBRATE the past, present and future. Get involved to help shape and improve your community.
For Lakeside and Harbor Country
Harbor Country is stunning in every season. We are fortunate to have parks and beaches to enjoy, along with organizations that foster friendship and support worthy causes. The Lakeside Association is proud to be one of these organizations dedicated to building a sense of community for Lakeside and our neighbors.

Lakeside 2025 - 2026 Events
Grab your basket and your cell phone and join in the fun for our annual Easter Egg Hunt. Kids are divided into age groups for separate hunts. There is even a group for adults only! The hunter collecting the most eggs in each category wins a prize. And don’t forget the hunt for the golden egg. The Easter Bunny makes a special appearance for pictures.
Lakeside continues its tradition of honoring our veterans and those who served. Join us at the Lakeside Cemetery (Lakeside Road, near Red Arrow Highway) for patriotic speeches, songs, and memories. The New Buffalo American Legion Post will once again join the Lakeside Association and the Chikaming Parks Department in the ceremony.
The BIGGEST little parade runs right through Lakeside. Dress up your bike, your wagon, your car, or your dog and celebrate Independence Day as a parade participant or as a spectator. The kazoo band will be back again to bring music to our steps and patriotic songs to the scene. The parade is a great way to meet up with friends and neighbors, as well as people visiting for the holiday. Great fun!
Ice and cake for $5! Join in with the community under the big tent in Lakeside Park for a slice of homemade cake and locally donated ice cream. Stroll through the park and visit with friends to the sound of summer music floating in the background. Watch the fun at the fish pond where kids (of all ages) take their chance at “catching” a toy! Everybody wins. This long-standing tradition ends with the cake auction, where friends, family, and neighbors compete for the highest bid on fabulous cakes made by members of the community. The proceeds from the event support the mission of the Lakeside Association, including scholarships for River Valley High School graduating seniors.
Volunteers gather to help keep our section of Red Arrow Highway clean and free of trash. Teams of two are assigned to stretches of the road and bag up all types of debris found along the road edge. The entire section is cleaned in about an hour. Many hands make light work! Join in to help beautify our community.
Join the Lakeside Association for an informal gathering of friends at The Lakeside Inn. As the hectic Harbor Country summer season draws to a close, stop by for a bite to eat and a chance to catch up, hear some news, or make a new acquaintance. Mingle and Munch is the Association’s way of saying thank you to the community. Hope you can join us.
Stop by the park for a free, half-hour QiGong session with other members of the community. QiGong is an ancient practice of slow movements that harnesses Qi or energy from the universe and is said to promote calmness, well-being, and longevity. No special equipment is required, and no experience is necessary.
